Things to do in Morro de São Paulo

From First to Fifth Beach

The beaches of Morro de São Paulo they are named with ordinal numbers, going from First to Fifth Beach. All have their particularities, which make them more pleasant to different types of travelers. Check it out:

  • A First Beach It is the closest to the center of town. With just over 300 meters in length, it offers enough waves to conquer the preference of sports practitioners. But if adventure isn't your thing, that's fine, heading to Segunda Praia there is a lookout point that has already become one of the sights of Morro de São Paulo for rendering excellent photos!
  • A second beach is often a favorite of visitors. Its wide strip of sand allows the practice of activities such as volleyball and racquetball. The calm waters are ideal for families with children and when the tide is low you can even find natural pools. Restaurants and bars make up the infrastructure that serves its visitors.
  • Much longer than the previous two, the third beach it has about 800m and is a middle ground between the hubbub and tranquility. With a very reduced presence of items such as tents and beach chairs, the sand is freer for people. At high tide the strip of sand becomes smaller, and at low tide corals and natural pools appear.
  • If you want to get away from any kind of hustle and bustle, the Fourth Beach it is the perfect choice. With 4km in length, it is farther from the other three, has way less infrastructure and, therefore, tends to be much less frequented. Despite this, those willing to walk to it will not regret it, as they are rewarded with an almost exclusive beach, to be enjoyed without haste.
  • For those who are not afraid to face distances, Morro de São Paulo still reserves a bonus: it is the Fifth Beach, also known as Praia do Encanto. With few options for restaurants and accommodation, the strong point of Quinta Praia is the tranquility of its almost deserted stretch of sand. The hustle passes away from there, on the other hand nature puts on a show!

So, can you bet which of these will be your favorite beach? So let's go to the next sights of Morro de São Paulo.

Island Tour

Since we are talking about an archipelago, of course, a tour that allows you to visit locations accessible only by boat could not be missing. Lasting a whole day, the famous Island tour departs daily from Third Beach, always around 9 am. Exact stops may vary depending on the tides, but the first break for swimming is usually at the natural pools of Garapuá, still in Morro de São Paulo, or Moreré, already located on the island of Boipeba, neighboring Morro.

Once in Boipeba, it is customary for the second stop on the tour to leave tourists at Praia de Cueira or Boca da Barra, which provide access to other beaches by walking. This stop takes place at an appropriate time for lunch. The next stop is made at the much talked about floating bars of Canavieiras, where you can try fresh oysters, cooked to order.

Finally, the boat takes you to the municipality of Cairu, the administrative headquarters of the Cairu Archipelago (Archipelago of Tinharé), which, with its peaceful climate, invites you to walk through the streets, observing centuries-old buildings. After this last break, the boat takes you back to Morro de São Paulo, at the perfect time to enjoy the sunset during the journey.
